my instant pot won't turn on at all, no lights, nothing. it's plugged into a working outlet.

DIAGNOSIS Complete power failure indicates an issue with the power cord connection, the internal fuse, or a fault in the main control board. No display means no power is reaching the unit's electronics.

FIX 1. Verify the wall outlet works with another device. 2. Ensure the power cord is firmly plugged into the back of the Instant Pot base. 3. Check that the cord's connector is fully inserted and not loose. 4. Try a different, known-working power cord if available (standard IEC C13 connector).

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The internal thermal fuse may have blown due to an overload. This requires professional repair or replacement of the unit. Contact Instant Pot customer support; the unit is likely under warranty.

HEADS UP Do not attempt to open the base or repair internal components yourself. The base contains high-voltage parts. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
