DIAGNOSIS Continuous water leakage from the steam release valve stem indicates the valve is not fully seated in the 'Sealing' position, or food debris is blocking the valve orifice.
FIX 1. Press Cancel and allow a Natural Pressure Release until the float valve drops. 2. Open the lid. 3. Remove the steam release valve by pulling it straight up. 4. Wash the valve and its silicone cap under running water, clearing any debris from the small hole. 5. Reinstall the valve, ensuring it clicks fully down onto the lid post. 6. Turn the valve fully to the left to the 'Sealing' position.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The silicone cap on the valve may be torn or deformed. Inspect it for damage. Order a replacement steam release valve assembly (official Instant Pot part).
HEADS UP A small amount of initial condensation or a few droplets from the valve is normal. A steady stream or spray of water/steam is not. Do not attempt to manually hold the valve down during cooking.
