It's an automatic shut-off feature triggered by the cup sensor. Place a cup on the drip tray plate.
- The brewer uses a cup sensor. If no cup is detected, it will shut off automatically.
- Do not use a clear, glass mug. The cup sensor will not "read" it and the "Place Mug" light will just flash.
- Use a standard 10 oz ceramic or opaque coffee cup.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: Check that the drip tray assembly is fully seated and level. Slide it out, empty any accumulated liquid, clean it with a damp soapy cloth, and slide it back in, keeping it level.
HEADS UP: The drip tray and drip tray plate are not dishwasher safe. Clean them periodically with a damp, non-abrasive cloth.
