This happens when the motor internal temperature exceeds safe operating limits, cutting power to the heating element to prevent a permanent electrical failure. You can confirm this by checking if the blender feels hot to the touch near the base or if there is a slight smell of warm electronics.
How to Fix It
To reset the blender and resume your smoothie, follow these precise steps to clear the safety lockout and cool the motor:
- Immediately rotate the variable speed dial counter-clockwise back to the (0) or Off position. The blender cannot reset while the dial is resting on a speed setting.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet completely. This clears any residual static charge in the control board.
- Wait exactly 60 seconds. This allows the internal timer to reset and the thermal switch to begin cooling.
- Check the blender jar for "air pockets." If the ingredients are stuck and not moving (cavitation), add 1/4 cup of liquid or use the provided tamper to push the ingredients down toward the blades.
- Plug the unit back into a grounded 3-prong outlet.

- Verify Power Source: Plug a different small appliance (like a toaster) into the same outlet. If that doesn't work, the issue is your home's circuit breaker, not the blender.

- Pulse First: When blending frozen smoothies, use the Pulse function for 5-10 seconds to break up large chunks before switching to a continuous variable speed.
