my new keurig k-mini isn't brewing on the first try. water just heats up and light pulses but nothing comes out.

This indicates the one-time setup cleansing brew was not completed, or there is a minimum water fill issue.

DIAGNOSIS: The brewer requires a initial cleansing cycle before first use.

FIX: Perform the Lift & Lower Cleansing Brew.

1. Do not insert a K-Cup pod.
2. Lift and lower the handle.
3. Press the brew button. The brew indicator light will illuminate solid, then pulse while heating.
4. After about 2 minutes, the light will illuminate solid again and water will dispense. Pour it into the sink.
5. Setup is now complete. You can brew normally.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: Ensure you add a minimum of 6oz of water to the reservoir. Add an additional 2oz to guarantee the fill level is met, then press brew. Repeat until dispensing begins.
