When the light blinks green without a corresponding error code on the LCD screen, it means the device is stuck in a boot-loop or a processing hang, rendering the physical buttons unresponsive because the CPU is locked. To confirm this is a firmware hang and not a hardware failure, observe the print head carriage. If the carriage is completely stationary and does not move or "home" itself when you first plug the device in, the printer is stuck in a software lock. If the light continues to blink even after a basic restart, the issue is likely a residual charge in the capacitors or a jammed internal sensor that is preventing the "Ready" state from being achieved.
How to Fix It
To resolve a frozen state and clear the internal volatile memory of the G3270, follow this precise hard-reset sequence:
- Turn the printer off using the Power button. If the button is unresponsive, proceed directly to the next step.
- Disconnect the power cable from the rear port of the printer.
- Unplug the power adapter directly from the wall outlet. This is critical because some surge protectors maintain a trickle charge that prevents a full logic reset.

A blinking green light is often a symptom of an outdated firmware version struggling with newer Windows 11 or macOS updates.
- Inspect the Encoder Strip: Locate the clear plastic strip that runs across the width of the printer behind the print head. If there is a smudge of ink or grease on this strip, the printer cannot determine the head's position and will freeze. Carefully wipe it with a dry, lint-free cloth.
