Diagnosis
A significant delay means the camera is taking too long to wake from its power-saving sleep, process the event, and push the notification to your phone. Poor Wi-Fi is the most common cause of this sluggish chain.
How to Fix It
Focus on improving the Wi-Fi signal strength at the camera. Use the Device Health > Signal Strength check in the Ring app as your guide. If it's not 'Good' or 'Very Good', you need to boost it. The fixes are the same: move the camera/router, use a Wi-Fi extender, or employ the solar panel's repeater function.
If That Didn't Work
Check your phone's notification settings. Go to your phone's system settings (not the Ring app), find Ring, and make sure notifications are set to 'Immediate' or aren't being optimized/batched by the system, which can introduce its own delay.
Heads Up
There's a small inherent delay (seconds) with battery cameras as they wake up—that's normal. Minutes-long delays are always a connectivity problem.
