my samsung fridge doors won't stay closed, they pop open an inch on their own. it's driving me crazy.

DIAGNOSIS The fridge is not level, or the gaskets are creating a suction effect when closing. An unlevel fridge is the primary cause.

FIX Level the refrigerator front-to-back.
1. Grab a level. Place it on the top of the fridge, side-to-side and front-to-back.
2. Adjust the front leveling legs. Turn them clockwise to raise that corner, counter-clockwise to lower. You need the fridge to tilt slightly backwards (about 1/4 inch higher in front than in back). This gravity bias makes the doors self-close.
3. Re-check with the level. The side-to-side should be perfectly level; the front-to-back should have that slight backward tilt.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Check the door gaskets. Clean them with warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly. A sticky or dirty gasket can create a seal that then 'pops' and pushes the door open. Also, ensure nothing inside (like a tall bottle) is blocking full closure.

HEADS UP If leveling doesn't fix it, the door hinges might be misaligned. On this model, the left door (fridge) is the master. If it's sagging, it can prevent the right door from latching properly. Hinge adjustment is more involved and may need a service call.
