DIAGNOSIS The control board lost power or has a glitch. A full power reset is the first and most effective step.
FIX Perform a hard reset.
1. Unplug the refrigerator from the wall outlet. Do not just turn it off at a switch.
2. Wait 5 full minutes. This drains any residual power from the control boards.
3. While unplugged, press and hold the 'Power Cool' and 'Power Freeze' buttons on the display panel (if accessible) for 10 seconds to discharge any static.
4. Plug the fridge directly back into the wall outlet. The display should illuminate and initiate a startup sequence.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The issue is likely a failed main control board or a wiring disconnect. Check that the fridge is plugged into a working outlet (test with another appliance). If the outlet is good and the reset did nothing, the main PCB behind the display panel needs replacement.
HEADS UP Using a heavily loaded power strip or a GFCI outlet that has tripped can cause this. Always plug the fridge directly into a dedicated wall outlet.
