DIAGNOSIS 5E is a drain error. Your washer can't pump out the water. The drain hose or pump filter is likely clogged.
FIX Unplug the washer. Open the service panel on the front bottom-left. Place a towel and shallow pan below. Unscrew the drain pump filter cap slowly to release water. Clear any debris from the filter and the pump impeller. Check the drain hose for kinks or clogs. Reassemble.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The drain pump itself may have failed. You'll hear no humming from the pump area during a drain cycle. The pump assembly (part number DD97-00532A) needs replacement.
HEADS UP Never force the pump filter cap. If it's stuck, it's cross-threaded. Turn counter-clockwise gently until it clicks, then unscrew.
