DIAGNOSIS The washer is stuck in a beeping alarm state, usually because the lid isn't closed and latched properly. The lid switch on these is pretty particular.
FIX First, just open and then firmly close the lid—you should hear a solid, positive click. If that doesn't stop the beeping, unplug the washer for a full minute to reset the control board. Plug it back in, close the lid firmly, and try a cycle. The beeping should stop and it should start normally.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The lid lock mechanism itself might be faulty or obstructed. Check the metal latch on the lid and the plastic strike on the top of the tub opening for any cracks, debris, or misalignment. If the latch is damaged, it won't engage the switch inside the cabinet.
HEADS UP The washer absolutely will not agitate or spin with the lid open—that's a safety feature. So if the beeping stops but it still won't run, the lid lock assembly or the main control board might have failed, which is a less common but known issue.
