DIAGNOSIS The machine is performing a descaling alert sequence. It will not brew until the mandatory descaling cycle is completed.
FIX The descaling procedure must be run. Prepare the official Nespresso descaling solution or a citric acid solution as per guidelines. With the machine on and empty, press the button three times within two seconds. The light will pulse orange. Follow the on-screen prompts via the Nespresso app if connected, or light sequence: add solution, run water through, rinse thoroughly. The cycle takes approximately 20 minutes.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the light sequence does not initiate, the machine may have a faulty thermoblock or sensor. Unplug the machine for 15 minutes to perform a hard reset. Plug it back in. If the orange/green blink persists, a factory reset is required: press the button seven times within five seconds.
HEADS UP Do not interrupt the descaling cycle once started. Use only recommended descaling agents. Vinegar can damage the internal seals and void the warranty.
