my vitamix e310 just won't turn on at all, no lights or anything. what's wrong?

— asked by Josh

Most likely cause: the motor has overheated and triggered its internal thermal protection.

Fix:

  1. Unplug the blender from the wall outlet.
  2. Let the motor base sit and cool down for 20 to 45 minutes.
  3. Plug it back in directly to a wall outlet. Do not use an extension cord or adapter.
  4. Ensure the On/Off switch is in the On (I) position and try starting it again.

If that didn't work:

  • Check the circuit. If you have a GFI outlet near a sink, it may have tripped. Reset the wall outlet or circuit breaker. If it keeps tripping, unplug the blender and contact Vitamix Customer Service.
  • Confirm the variable speed dial is set to Variable 1. The machine must start on the lowest speed setting.

Heads up: Never supply power through an external timer or switched circuit. This can cause the thermal cut-out to malfunction.
