Diagnosis
The persistent clicking noise during a failed print cycle is a classic symptom of the NIIMBOT B1's print mechanism attempting to engage but encountering resistance. This is almost always caused by an incorrect media feed or depleted consumables. The printer clicks as it tries to grab and advance the label paper or thermal transfer ribbon but cannot.
How to Fix It
First, power the B1 off. Follow these steps:
- Check Paper Alignment: Open the paper compartment. The label paper roll must feed under the silver guide and the very first label's edge must protrude from the paper exit slot by about 0.5cm (the width of a pencil lead). If it's tucked inside, manually pull it out to this position.
- Inspect Consumables: Look at the thermal transfer ribbon (the black roll). If the ribbon is transparent or fully unwound onto the white take-up spool, it's empty and must be replaced. Similarly, check if the label paper roll itself is used up.
- Reload Properly: Ensure all components—paper roll, ribbon supply spool, and ribbon take-up spool—are seated securely in their correct slots and rotate freely. Close the lid firmly until it clicks.
- Power On and Test: Turn the printer back on. It will perform a short auto-feed. Try printing a test label via the Niimbot app.
If That Didn't Work
If the clicking persists, the issue may be a physical obstruction. Open the lid again and carefully inspect for any small torn pieces of paper or ribbon jammed near the print head or feed path. Remove any debris with tweezers. Also, confirm you are using official or compatible 30mm width label paper; incorrect paper can cause constant feed errors. As a last resort, perform a factory reset via the Niimbot app's settings to clear any firmware glitches.

Using non-official, low-quality, or damaged label paper can leave adhesive residue on the critical thermal print head, causing permanent damage and voiding your warranty. Always ensure the paper and ribbon are Niimbot-compatible.
