roomba s9+ says 'bin full' right after i empty it and put it back on the base.

— asked by Alex

DIAGNOSIS The bin full sensor is either blocked or the microswitch on the bin door is stuck. The robot uses an optical sensor inside the bin port to detect debris.

FIX Remove the bin from the robot. Open the bin door and clean the entire interior, including the small clear plastic sensor window on the top interior wall. Use a dry cloth. Ensure the rubber flap on the bin door moves freely and is not folded.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Manually reset the bin status. On the robot's screen, press the three-line menu icon. Navigate to Settings > Reboot Robot. After reboot, the bin status should clear if the sensor is clean.

HEADS UP Using third-party bags in the Clean Base can sometimes cause finer dust to bypass the bag and coat this sensor, requiring more frequent cleaning.
