the centering pad fell off my vitamix container, can i still use it?

— asked by Ben

No. You should never attempt to operate the blender with the centering pad removed.

Here's what you need to do:

  1. Retrieve the centering pad. It's the rubber ring that sits on the motor base.
  2. Before every use, make sure the container or cup (with personal cup adapter) is flush with the centering pad. This ensures the drive spline engages with the drive socket.
  3. If the pad is damaged or won't stay in place, contact Vitamix Customer Service for a replacement. Using the blender without it can cause misalignment, damage, and injury.

If that didn't work, check the container seating. When you place the container on the base, it should sit flat and secure. If it's wobbling, the centering pad is likely missing or the container drive spline is damaged.

Heads up: Only use genuine Vitamix parts. Alteration or use of non-authorized parts can cause fire, electric shock, injury, and voids your warranty.
