DIAGNOSIS The door latch mechanism is either obstructed or the strike plate is misaligned. The latch on this model is a smooth, magnetic catch system.
FIX Inspect the latch recess on the door and the strike plate on the tub frame. Remove any food debris or obstruction with a damp cloth. Check for alignment: the door should sit flush when closed. If misaligned, loosen the two screws securing the strike plate, reposition it slightly, and retighten.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The door spring tension may be insufficient. Check the two torsion springs inside the door hinges. If a spring is detached or broken, the door will not self-close with enough force to engage the latch.
HEADS UP Do not force the door closed. The latch is not mechanical; forcing it can crack the door liner or damage the magnetic sensor that confirms the door is shut for cycle start.
