Diagnosis
The loud grinding noise indicates physical interference within the fan assembly. The most common causes are a warped or cracked convection fan blade, a foreign object (like a piece of food or a broken rack clip) lodged in the housing, or a bent motor shaft. This typically results from thermal stress, an impact during cleaning/loading, or general wear.
How to Fix It
- Unplug the appliance and let it cool completely.
- Remove the rear cover by taking out all the Torx T15 security screws.
- Visually inspect the silver metal fan shroud and the plastic fan blade for any obstructions. Remove any debris.
- Examine the plastic fan blade for cracks, chips, or signs of melting. Gently spin it by hand to check for wobble or if it scrapes the shroud.
- If the blade is damaged, it must be replaced. You'll need to order the specific fan blade assembly for the Emeril 360 Plus model.
If That Didn't Work
If the blade is intact and clear of debris, the issue is internal. The motor's bearing is likely worn or seized, or the motor shaft is bent. This requires replacing the entire convection fan motor assembly. For this model, the motor and blade are often a single service part. Contact the manufacturer (Newell Brands) for genuine replacement parts and service information, as disassembling the motor housing is complex.

Do not operate the air fryer with this noise. A grinding fan creates excessive vibration, overheats the motor, and can lead to a complete motor failure or damage the main control board, resulting in a much more expensive repair.
