the floodlights on my e340 won’t turn on automatically at night anymore, even though the camera works.

— asked by Sam

Quick answer: The auto-light settings got disabled or corrupted, or the ambient light sensor is dirty/blocked.

Diagnosis

The auto-light settings got disabled or corrupted, or the ambient light sensor is dirty/blocked.

How to Fix It

Re-enable and reconfigure the light schedule in the app. 1) Go to Device Settings > Light Settings. 2) Set ‘Light Schedule’ to ‘Auto’. 3) Tap ‘Auto Light Settings’ and ensure ‘Turn On Light Upon Motion’ is ON. 4) Set the ‘Start Time’ to Sunset and ‘End Time’ to Sunrise. Save.

If That Didn't Work

The ambient light sensor is the small, dark circular window near the cameras. It might be covered by dirt, a spider web, or even paint if you recently painted the house. Clean it carefully with a dry cotton swab.

Heads Up

The ‘Auto’ schedule relies on your phone’s location services to determine sunset/sunrise. If you denied the Eufy app location permissions, it won’t work. Go to your phone’s settings and ensure Eufy Security has location access set to ‘Always’ or ‘While Using’.
