the headlights on my shark stratos won't turn on anymore

— asked by Alex

Quick answer: The LED circuit has failed. The most common point of failure is the thin wire connecting the lights to the main board, which can fray or disconnect.

Diagnosis

The LED circuit has failed. The most common point of failure is the thin wire connecting the lights to the main board, which can fray or disconnect.

How to Fix It

1. Unplug the vacuum. Flip it over and remove the soleplate.
2. Locate the two LED light pods near the front of the cleaner head.
3. Trace the thin red/black wires from each pod back to their connector.
4. Check for a loose connection or a break in the wire, especially where it bends near the brushroll chamber.
5. Re-seat any loose connectors. If a wire is broken, it must be spliced and soldered.

If That Didn't Work

Both LEDs failing simultaneously suggests a problem with the small control board that powers them, requiring board replacement.

Heads Up

The headlights are powered independently of the main motor. Their failure does not affect vacuum performance.
