the hum app won't find or connect to my toothbrush during setup, it's just stuck searching.

Quick answer: A failed Bluetooth pairing handshake. The brush's Bluetooth module enters a low-power state after several minutes if not paired.

Diagnosis

A failed Bluetooth pairing handshake. The brush's Bluetooth module enters a low-power state after several minutes if not paired.

How to Fix It

1. Place the brush on the charger. 2. Force quit and reopen the Colgate Hum app. 3. In the app, delete any existing brush from your account. 4. Press and hold the brush's power button for 10 seconds until it vibrates twice (this resets Bluetooth). 5. Immediately begin the 'Add Brush' process in the app with the brush within 3 feet of your phone.

If That Didn't Work

Ensure Bluetooth permissions are enabled for the Hum app in your phone's settings. Temporarily disable any VPN or ad-blocking apps, as they can interfere with the initial connection.

Heads Up

The brush only broadcasts its Bluetooth signal for pairing when it is actively on the charger or has been freshly powered on. It cannot be discovered if the battery is critically low.
