the little light on my dekopro drill won't turn on when i pull the trigger, is it broken?

— asked by Tina

Not necessarily broken. The LED worklight is designed to turn on automatically when you squeeze the speed control trigger. First, let's diagnose.

  1. Make sure the drill itself is operational. Install a charged battery and try to drill something. If the drill runs but the light doesn't come on, the light may have failed.
  2. Check that you're in a well-lit area. Sometimes the LED is subtle and hard to see in bright light.

If that didn't work: The connection might be faulty. Since the light is integrated, this isn't a user-serviceable part. You'll need to have it looked at by a qualified repair person.

Heads up: Remember, that light is only meant to illuminate your immediate work area on the material. Don't try to use it as a room light or a flashlight.
