the non stick coating on the basket is already peeling off after a few washes, is it safe to use and how do i stop it from getting worse?

DIAGNOSIS You're almost certainly using an abrasive—metal utensils, steel wool, scouring pads, or even some harsh dishwasher detergents. The coating is delicate.

FIX Stop the damage now. Hand-wash only with a soft sponge or cloth and mild dish soap. For stuck-on grease, soak the basket in hot, soapy water for 20 minutes, then gently wipe. Never use metal utensils inside; use silicone, wood, or nylon.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If the peeling is extensive and flakes are getting on your food, the basket is a safety hazard and needs replacement. Contact KMFurnila for a replacement basket. Do not try to re-coat it yourself.

HEADS UP Even small flakes of non-stick coating are not safe to ingest. If you see any peeling, inspect food carefully before eating. A fully peeled basket will also cause severe sticking and smoke.
