the outside of my philips air fryer xl gets really hot, is that normal?

— asked by Jordan

Yes, that's normal. Heat radiates to the outer walls during operation. The handles and knobs you need to touch should remain cool enough to handle.

However, some specific areas can get too hot to touch, especially if the appliance runs for a long time. These areas are marked with a 'hot surface' icon on the unit. Just be aware of them and avoid touching those spots.

If that didn't work: Make sure you're giving it enough space. Leave at least 10 cm of free space at the back, sides, and above the appliance. Don't place it against a wall or under cabinets, as steam can damage them.

Heads up: Always place the air fryer on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface. Let it cool for about 30 minutes before handling or cleaning.
