Diagnosis
The plastic rear fender's mounting points have loosened or the plastic itself has cracked near the bolts.
How to Fix It
Tighten or reinforce the fender mounts.
- Turn the scooter upside down.
- Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the two screws securing the fender to the frame.
- If the screws spin freely, the plastic threads are stripped.
- For stripped threads, remove the screws, add a small washer, and re-insert. This can clamp the plastic securely.
If That Didn't Work
The fender itself is likely cracked. You'll need to replace the entire rear fender assembly, which is inexpensive and bolts on.
Heads Up
A loose fender can eventually catch in the rear wheel, causing a sudden stop or damage. Don't ignore it.
