the spotlight on my arlo pro 4 turns on randomly at night when there's no motion, draining the battery fast.

DIAGNOSIS Incorrect Activity Zones or overly sensitive motion detection. Small insects, blowing leaves, or light changes can trigger the spotlight.

FIX In the Arlo app, edit the camera's Activity Zones. Draw zones to exclude areas with routine movement like trees or streetlights. Lower the motion sensitivity slider to around 50% as a test. Ensure the camera lens is clean of dust and spider webs.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Check the Night Vision settings. If set to 'Auto', the IR cut filter can sometimes cause a false trigger. Try setting it to 'On' for a fixed schedule instead.

HEADS UP The battery indicator in the app is an estimate. Frequent spotlight use will drain it in days, not months. For constant spotlight use, consider the official solar panel or wired power adapter.
