Diagnosis
Excessive vibration and banging indicates the washer is not self-leveling correctly, or the shipping bolts/rods were not fully removed during installation.
How to Fix It
Execute the leveling and stability protocol. 1. Verify all four shipping bolts and the metal stability rod (if equipped) were removed from the rear panel. 2. Use a carpenter's level on the washer lid. Adjust the front leveling legs by turning them clockwise to lower or counterclockwise to raise. The washer must be level front-to-back and side-to-side. 3. Ensure all four feet are firmly contacting the floor. A rigid, concrete floor is ideal.
If That Didn't Work
The shock absorber assemblies or the suspension springs may be damaged or disconnected, allowing the inner tub to move excessively. This requires rear-panel removal for inspection.
Heads Up
Operating the washer on an uneven or flexible floor (like a raised wood subfloor) will always cause some vibration. Using a vibration-reducing pad designed for front-load washers can mitigate this.
