Diagnosis
A non-draining washer is most often caused by a clog in the drain path: the drain pump filter, the drain hose, or the household drain line.
How to Fix It
Follow the clog-check sequence. 1. Access and clean the drain pump filter. On this model, it's behind the service panel on the lower front right. Have a towel and shallow pan ready for water spillage. Remove any debris. 2. Check the drain hose at the back of the washer for kinks or obstructions. 3. Ensure the end of the drain hose is not submerged too deep in the standpipe or utility sink, which can cause a siphon lock.
If That Didn't Work
The drain pump itself may have failed or its impeller may be jammed by an object that bypassed the filter. You may hear a humming noise without water movement if the pump is obstructed.
Heads Up
Never force the drain pump filter cap open. Turn it slowly counterclockwise. If the washer is mid-cycle with water, the filter will release a large amount of water. Be prepared.
