You're likely overloading the basket or using the wrong temperature.
- First: Don't overcrowd. Fill the air fry basket in a single layer. Use the Bake function for larger batches.
- Second: Use the correct function. Select Air Fry, not Bake or Convection Bake.
- Third: Set temperature to 400°F. Set time to 15-20 minutes. Shake the basket halfway through cooking.
- Fourth: Preheat. Let the oven run at 400°F for 3 minutes with the empty basket inside before adding fries.
If that didn't work, moisture is the enemy. Pat your fries dry with a paper towel before cooking, even if frozen. For extra crisp, lightly spray the fries with oil before air frying.
Heads up: For best air frying, always use the perforated basket placed on the wire rack in position 3. Never air fry on a solid pan—it steams the food.
