water is leaking from the bottom of my homelabs ice maker, puddle underneath

— asked by Sam

DIAGNOSIS The drain plug on the back is either missing, loose, or the O-ring seal has failed.

FIX Unplug the unit. Tilt it forward (over a sink or towel) and check the black rubber drain plug on the lower back panel. Push it in firmly until it clicks and seats completely. Dry the area and run a test cycle.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The internal drain tube may be cracked or disconnected. This requires disassembly. Before going that far, ensure the unit is perfectly level on all four feet—an unlevel machine can cause water to seep from the reservoir seam.

HEADS UP Never use the machine without the drain plug securely in place. It's not a self-draining feature for daily use; it's only for deep cleaning and storage.
