DIAGNOSIS: A clogged or misaligned drain hose inside the machine. Mineral deposits or ice chips block the defrost water from draining to the evaporation tray, causing an overflow.
FIX: Unplug the machine. Pull it forward and tip it back slightly (have towels ready). Look for a small, clear silicone hose at the back-bottom of the interior. Disconnect it, flush it with warm water, and ensure it's reconnected snugly with no kinks.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: The internal water inlet valve might be cracked or the connection loose. This requires checking the rear panel. If you see water actively leaking from the area where the water line enters the back, the unit likely needs professional repair.
HEADS UP: Regularly cleaning the machine with a vinegar solution helps prevent mineral clogs that cause this leak. Do it monthly if you have hard water.
