DIAGNOSIS The infrared sensor that detects ice level is either blocked or misaligned. It's located on the left side inside the ice chute.
FIX Unplug the unit. Remove the ice basket. Shine a flashlight into the left side of the ice chute. You'll see a small, clear plastic lens. Wipe it clean with a dry, soft cloth—no moisture. Also clear any ice chips or dust from the corresponding sensor on the opposite side.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The ice basket itself may not be seated perfectly flat on the base. Ensure it's pushed all the way back and sitting level.
HEADS UP Stacking ice too high on the left side of the basket can prematurely trigger the sensor. Try distributing the ice more evenly.
