DIAGNOSIS The main user-serviceable parts for cleaning are the water reservoir, ice basket, and the interior. The internal system is cleaned via a built-in cycle.
FIX For a full clean: 1) Unplug. Wash reservoir and basket with warm, soapy water. 2) Wipe interior with damp cloth. 3) Plug in, press and hold the Power and Select buttons for 3 seconds to start the 15-minute self-cleaning cycle ("CLn" will display). 4) After cycle, discard the first two batches of ice.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If mineral scale is visible on the evaporator plate (the cold metal grid), use only Frigidaire's official ice maker cleaner (or a citric acid solution per manual) in the cleaning cycle—not vinegar, which can damage seals.
HEADS UP Run the cleaning cycle every 2-4 weeks if you use it daily. Scale buildup is the #1 cause of slow ice production and weird tastes.
