The blender is likely drawing its full 12-amp load on a GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter) circuit, which is common in outlets near sinks.
Immediate fix:
- Unplug the blender from the tripped outlet.
- Reset the wall outlet or the circuit breaker at your panel.
- Plug the blender directly back into the wall outlet. Do not use an extension cord or an adapter.
If that didn't work:
- If the circuit breaker continues to trip, unplug the blender and let it sit unused for 24 hours. Then try a different, non-GFI outlet.
- If the problem persists, contact Vitamix Customer Service. The motor or wiring may need examination.
Heads up: This blender must be plugged into a grounded outlet only. Do not remove the ground pin or use an adapter. Do not put the motor base in water.
