Diagnosis
The Over Ice brew function on the Ninja DualBrew Pro is designed to brew hot, concentrated coffee directly onto a full cup of ice. The ice both chills and dilutes the coffee to the proper strength. If your result is lukewarm, the primary cause is insufficient ice. The brewer cannot physically cool the coffee; it relies entirely on the thermal mass of the ice you provide.
How to Fix It
The solution is to use more ice. Follow these steps precisely:
- Place your cup, travel mug, or carafe on the drip tray.
- Fill it completely to the brim with standard ice cubes. Do not use crushed ice or a small handful.
- Press the "Over Ice" button. The light will illuminate.
- Select your desired brew size (e.g., Cup, XL Cup, Travel Mug). The brewer will automatically adjust the coffee concentration and water volume for that size when Over Ice is active.
- Start the brew cycle. The hot coffee will flow directly onto the full cup of ice.
If That Didn't Work
If you're using ample ice and the coffee is still warm, check these settings:
- Brew Style Selection: Confirm the orange "Over Ice" button light is on. If you selected "Classic" or "Rich" by mistake, it will brew a standard, hotter, and less concentrated batch not intended for icing.
- Brew Size: Using a "Travel Mug" or "XL Cup" size in a standard cup will deliver too much hot liquid, melting all the ice. Always match the selected size to your actual container's capacity.
- Ice Quality: Ensure your ice is fully frozen. Ice that has partially thawed or is "wet" has less cooling capacity.
Heads Up
The brewer dispenses a specific water volume for each size in Over Ice mode. If your container overflows, you are either using a container smaller than the selected brew size or not filling it completely with ice before starting, which leaves no room for the coffee.
