winix 5510 check filter light is on but i just replaced the filter, how do i reset it?

— asked by Alex

The filter life timer needs a manual reset.

  • Ensure the new True HEPA Filter and the Pre-Filter are installed correctly and the front panel is closed.
  • Turn the unit on.
  • Locate the Filter Reset Button.
  • Use a thin object like a paper clip.
  • Press and hold the Filter Reset Button for 5 seconds.

You should hear a beep. The Check Filter Indicator LED will turn off. The timer is now reset.

If that didn't work: Confirm you are holding the button for a full 5 seconds while the unit is powered on. If the light remains, unplug the unit for 30 seconds, then repeat the process.

Heads up: Only reset this after physically replacing the True HEPA and Activated Carbon filters. The replacement filter SKU is 1712-0123-00.
