Diagnosis
Using a standard Pyrex dish inside your Ninja Foodi pressure cooker is not safe. The primary risk is thermal shock. The dish is designed for gradual oven heating, not the rapid, intense temperature changes of pressure cooking. The metal pot heats up much faster than the glass, creating severe stress that can cause the dish to shatter. This creates a serious safety hazard from glass fragments, steam, and hot food, and will ruin your cheesecake and potentially the appliance.
How to Fix It
To bake a cheesecake safely, you must use accessories designed for the Ninja Foodi's specific heating and pressure environment.
- Use the official Ninja Foodi Multi-Purpose Pan or Loaf Pan. These are oven-safe and engineered for the appliance's heat transfer.
- For the water bath method (recommended for cheesecake), place the filled pan on the Reversible Rack set to the taller position inside the main cooking pot. Pour water into the pot until it reaches just below the rack.
- Follow a tested Ninja Foodi cheesecake recipe for precise pressure, time, and release settings to ensure perfect results.
If That Didn't Work
If you don't have a Ninja-branded pan, you can bake the cheesecake directly in the provided non-stick cooking pot (if your recipe volume fits the 6.5-quart size). Alternatively, for a non-pressure method, use the "Bake/Roast" air fry function with an oven-safe dish placed inside the Cook & Crisp Basket, as this avoids the rapid pressure heating. Never use the pressure function with unauthorized cookware.
Heads Up
Never use the main Ninja Foodi cooking pot, its lid, or any plastic accessories (like the reversible rack) in a conventional oven, on a stovetop, or under a broiler. They are only for use within the Ninja Foodi base unit.
