Diagnosis
The Ninja Foodi automatically activates its Keep Warm mode after completing any pressure cook, steam, or slow cook cycle. This is a default safety and convenience feature designed to maintain your food at a safe temperature (above 140°F) for up to 12 hours, preventing bacterial growth. The unit will beep and the display will begin counting up the time in Keep Warm mode.
How to Fix It
To deactivate Keep Warm mode immediately after cooking finishes, follow these steps:
- When the cooking cycle ends and the unit beeps, the display will show "KEEP WARM" and a timer counting up.
- Locate and press the physical KEEP WARM button on the control panel.
- The display will stop counting, and the Keep Warm function will turn off. The heating element will disengage, and the pot will begin to cool naturally.
- You can then safely open the lid (after performing a quick pressure release if needed) and serve your food.
If That Didn't Work
If pressing the Keep Warm button does not stop the count-up timer, ensure the cooking program has fully completed and the unit is not still in a cooldown phase. If the issue persists, try a hard reset: unplug the Ninja Foodi from the wall outlet for 60 seconds, then plug it back in. This can clear any temporary electronic glitches. Also, verify that no other buttons are stuck or that the control panel is clean and dry.
Heads Up
Keep Warm mode is intended only for maintaining the temperature of already-cooked food, not for reheating cold food or for extended cooking. For food safety, do not leave perishable foods in the Keep Warm mode for longer than the maximum 12-hour period.
