Diagnosis
Your Cosori Turboblaze is designed to cook from frozen, and its dedicated "Frozen" function is the correct starting point. The challenge is ensuring the high-velocity 360° air flow can penetrate the frozen exterior to cook the inside before the outside, especially the cheese, overheats.
How to Fix It
For frozen mozzarella sticks:
- Ensure the crisper plate is correctly installed in the basket for proper air circulation.
- Place sticks in a single layer without touching. Do not overfill; cook in batches if necessary.
- Select the "Frozen" Turbo Mode. The default time/temp is a guideline. A good starting point is 10-12 minutes at 400°F, but always check the packaging for any specific recommendations for air frying.
- Pause and shake the basket halfway through the cooking time.
- Monitor closely in the final minutes. They are done when the coating is golden and crisp. Let them sit for 1-2 minutes before eating, as the cheese will be extremely hot.
If That Didn't Work
If the coating is browning too fast before the center is hot, reduce the temperature by 25°F on your next batch. If the sticks are not crispy enough, ensure you are not overcrowding the basket, as this steams the food. You can also add 1-2 minutes to the cook time or finish with a 1-2 minute "Broil" function cycle for extra browning.
Heads Up
Watch for signs of cheese leakage, which can burn on the basket and cause dark smoke. If you see dark smoke (not light steam or vapor), stop cooking immediately, unplug the unit, and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
