Diagnosis
Stuck-on grease on your Cosori basket is common, especially from high-fat foods. The PFAS-free ceramic coating is non-stick but can still develop a baked-on residue that regular dish soap and water can't dissolve. This requires a gentle, abrasive chemical reaction to break down the grease without damaging the coating.
How to Fix It
For a deep clean, use a baking soda paste. Ensure the air fryer is unplugged and all parts are completely cool.
- Remove the basket and crisper plate. In a small bowl, mix 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda with just enough water (about 1 tablespoon) to make a thick, spreadable paste.
- Using a non-abrasive sponge or soft brush, apply the paste generously to all areas with stuck-on grease, coating the residue completely.
- Let the paste sit on the basket and crisper plate for 15-30 minutes. The baking soda will work to loosen the grease.
- After it sits, scrub gently with the sponge under warm running water. The paste should lift the grease away. Follow with a normal wash using mild dish soap and water, then dry thoroughly before reassembling.
If That Didn't Work
If residue remains, try a vinegar soak. Submerge the basket and plate in a sink or basin with equal parts warm water and white vinegar for up to an hour. The acidity helps dissolve mineral deposits and grease. After soaking, scrub again with the baking soda paste or a soft brush. For extremely stubborn spots, a drop of mild dish soap directly on a damp, non-scratch blue Scotch-Brite pad can provide extra gentle abrasion.
Heads Up
Never use metal scouring pads, steel wool, or harsh chemical cleaners like oven cleaner. These will permanently scratch and degrade the ceramic non-stick coating, making future sticking worse and creating a potential safety hazard. Always ensure components are completely dry before storage to prevent moisture damage.
