Soggy fries result from overcrowding, insufficient oil, or incorrect settings.
Fix:
- Batch Size: Place smaller batches in the basket. Do not overfill.
- Oil: Toss fries with a small amount of oil before cooking. Use no more than 2 tbsp (30 mL). An oil spray applies it evenly.
- Settings: Use the Air Fry function. Default is 400°F for 15 min. Shake or flip the fries halfway through cooking.
If That Didn't Work: Increase cooking time in 3-minute increments. Ensure fries are in a single layer on the crisper plate, not stacked. For frozen fries, do not thaw first.
Heads Up: This is not a deep fryer. Never fill the basket with oil. Proper air circulation is key to crispiness.
