Diagnosis
The E4 error on your Chefman Digital Air Fryer is a voltage input error. This specific model is designed exclusively for 120V, 60Hz electrical systems, like those standard in US households. The error activates when the appliance's internal circuitry detects it has been connected to a 220-240V power source, which it cannot safely handle.
How to Fix It
- Immediately turn off the air fryer using its power button.
- Unplug the unit from the wall outlet.
- Locate a standard US 120V household outlet. Do not use outlets in kitchens or laundry rooms that may be wired for 240V appliances.
- Plug the air fryer's power cord directly into the confirmed 120V outlet. Do not use an extension cord or power strip.
- Turn the air fryer back on. The E4 error should clear, and you can resume normal operation.
If That Didn't Work
If the E4 code persists after connecting to a proper 120V outlet, a hard reset is needed. Unplug the appliance and leave it disconnected for a full 10 minutes. This allows any residual power in the circuitry to drain and the internal controller to fully reset. Then, plug it back into the 120V outlet and power it on.
