No, you shouldn't leave it plugged in and idle. For inactivity over 24 hours, you need to prepare it to prevent microbial growth.
- Shut off the water source. For the ROPOT, this means emptying the raw water tank completely.
- Turn off the power supply at the switch and unplug it.
- For the pre-filters (PP, CTO) and post-filter (PCF), unscrew them, hang them upside down for 30 seconds to drain water, then twist them back in. Leave the RO filter as is; it needs to stay moist.
When you return, do not drink the first round of filtered water. Refill the tank with fresh tap water and run at least one full filtration cycle to flush the system before use.
If you just leave it sitting with water in the tank, the system can develop scale and the filters can harbor bacteria.
