For stubborn grease, you can make a baking soda paste. Here's how to do it safely without damaging the nonstick coating.
- Let the air fryer cool completely, then unplug it. Pull out the basket for faster cooling.
- In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda with 1 tablespoon of water to make a spreadable paste.
- Use a sponge to spread the paste onto the basket and crisper plate. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
- Scrub gently with a non-abrasive sponge, then rinse. You can also wash with hot, soapy water or put them in the dishwasher—they're dishwasher safe.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK: For regular maintenance, clean the basket after every use. Lining it with foil (but not under the crisper plate) can make cleanup easier.
HEADS UP: Never use metal scouring pads or abrasive cleaners. Metal fragments can break off and create a risk of electric shock. Also, make sure everything is completely dry, especially the heating coil, before you use it again.
