DIAGNOSIS The AI-215SS requires regular descaling and sanitizing to prevent performance loss. It lacks a single-button ‘cleaning mode’.
FIX For descaling: Power off. Fill reservoir with 16 oz of descaling solution and 48 oz of clean water. Power on, press ‘Ice Size’ and ‘Ice Making’ buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to start pump. Let solution circulate for 20 minutes, then drain. Rinse by repeating with clean water only. For sanitizing: Wipe all interior surfaces and the evaporator plate with a soft cloth dampened with a 50/50 white vinegar and water solution.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Persistent odors or film indicate scale in the water lines. Use a commercial ice machine cleaner, not just vinegar, following the product's specific dilution and soak-time instructions.
HEADS UP Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads on the stainless steel exterior or the plastic evaporator plate. This will cause scratches that harbor bacteria.
