The True HEPA filter is a replacement item. The washable pre-filter requires regular cleaning.
Maintenance schedule:
- Pre-Filter: Check monthly. Rinse under lukewarm water. Air dry completely before reinstalling.
- True HEPA Filter: Replacement interval depends on use and air quality. Under normal conditions, expect 12-24 months. The filter captures 99.97% of airborne particles (pollen, dust, smoke). Reduced airflow or odors indicate it's time for a change.
If that didn't work, and you're unsure about filter status, inspect it. A visibly darkened, gray, or dusty pleated filter is saturated. Operating with a clogged filter strains the fan.
Heads up: Always use a certified replacement True HEPA filter designed for the HPA300. Non-standard filters may not seal properly and can bypass contaminated air.
