i get 'motion detection unavailable' error on my nanit pro all the time, even with perfect wifi.

DIAGNOSIS The camera's onboard processor is overloaded or its firmware is corrupted, disabling the analytics engine.

FIX Update the firmware manually. In the Nanit app, go to Camera Settings > Device Info > Check for Updates. If no update is found, perform a hard reset: press and hold the small reset button on the camera base for 15 seconds until the LED flashes red, then release.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The issue may be specific to the Breathing Wear or Sleep Sack analytics. Ensure the pattern on your wearable is clearly visible to the camera, is the correct size for your child, and is not inside out.

HEADS UP "Motion Detection Unavailable" will also appear if you have multiple cameras and are actively streaming on a different one. The processing is prioritized for the live-view camera.
