why does my nanit keep losing the breathing wear detection? it works for a bit then stops.

DIAGNOSIS The pattern recognition is failing due to low light, pattern obstruction, or the child moving out of the calibrated frame.

FIX Follow the calibration checklist. One, room light must be above 10 lux (a dim nightlight). Two, the entire patterned band of the wearable must be visible, not tucked under the chin. Three, the child must be within the green tracking rectangle on the app screen. Four, ensure you selected the correct wearable type (Breathing Band vs. Sleep Sack) in the app settings.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK The camera's field of view may have shifted. Re-run the Floor Stand Calibration in the app's Camera Settings to re-establish the spatial baseline.

HEADS UP Breathing motion detection is an algorithm, not a medical device. It requires optimal conditions. Loose clothing, heavy blankets over the pattern, or a sleeper that is too large will cause frequent dropouts.
