nanit app says 'camera offline' but the camera has a solid white light, what does that mean?

— asked by Riley

DIAGNOSIS The camera is powered and functional, but the connection between the camera and Nanit's cloud servers is broken. A solid white LED confirms local operation.

FIX The problem is often on Nanit's server side or with your internet upload speed. First, check downdetector.com for Nanit server outages. Second, test your internet upload speed; it must be consistently above 2 Mbps. Third, restart your home router.

IF THAT DIDN'T WORK Your router's firewall or security settings may be blocking the camera's persistent connection. Temporarily disable any "Advanced Security" or "Intrusion Prevention" features on your router, then restart the camera.

HEADS UP A solid white light with an offline app status is almost never fixed by resetting the camera itself. Focus on network and server status.
