DIAGNOSIS You likely have the cooking function set incorrectly. The DZ550 requires you to select a cooking mode that uses both baskets. Using a single-basket mode will only activate the corresponding side.
FIX Check and set the dual-basket function. 1. Press the POWER button. 2. Select a cooking function that supports dual baskets: Air Fry, Broil, Bake, Roast, or Dehydrate. 3. The display will show "BASKET 1" and "BASKET 2" with separate time/temp settings. 4. You can set them independently or use the SYNC button to match settings. If only one basket is active, you selected a single-basket function like Reheat or Pizza.
IF THAT DIDN'T WORK If a dual-basket function is selected but one basket chamber remains cold, a heating element or internal wiring fault exists. Unplug the unit and contact Ninja support.
HEADS UP The Max Crisp function is only available for Basket 1. It cannot be used simultaneously in both baskets.
